Eastern Florida State College Men’s Basketball to Recognize Sophomores Saturday at Titan Field House

Titans ranked 14th in NJCAA Division I national poll

The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team will be at Titan Field House for the final time this season on Saturday evening. The Titans, who are ranked No. 14 in the NJCAA Division I national poll, will host Hillsborough Community College at 4 p.m. and then will honor the three sophomores, who will be on the court for the final time with the Titans.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team will be at Titan Field House for the final time this season on Saturday evening.

The Titans, who are ranked No. 14 in the NJCAA Division I national poll, will host Hillsborough Community College at 4 p.m. and then will honor the three sophomores, who will be on the court for the final time with the Titans.

Eastern Florida State College is tied for first place with Daytona State College and Florida Southwestern for first place in the Citrus Conference. All three teams are 12-2 in the conference. The Titans are 24-4 overall and 9-1 in last 10 games.

Owen Aquino, Matija Zuzic and Luca Colceag will all be recognized after the game as they will all move on to four-year schools after this season.

Aquino, a forward from Madrid, Spain, is averaging 15.7 points and 8.5 rebounds this season, recording nine double-doubles including each of the last two games. He has also recorded a triple double this season which is the first under head coach Jeremy Shulman. He has scored 566 points and grabbed 428 rebounds with 207 assists in his career. 

Zuzic, a guard from Belgrade, Serbia, is averaging 12.6 points per game and is hitting 42.8 percent of his 3-pointers this season. Zuzic is 15 points away from 500 in his career at EFSC and has made 104 3-pointers in two seasons. The shooter has had games of six and seven 3-pointers and has recorded a double-double this season.

Colceag, a guard from Bucharest, Romania, is 17 points away from 300 this season and 176 rebounds and has made 53 3-pointers heading into the final two games. Colceag is averaging 11.3 points and seven rebounds per game. He has recorded four double-doubles this season and has scored at least 10 points 18 times this season.
