Eastern Florida State Men’s Soccer Team Captures District Title, Titans Advances to National Tournament

Pool play in the national tournament begins Nov. 12 in Kansas

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer team is back in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament after winning the Southeast District title Saturday.

The Titans posted the 3-0 victory against Richard Bland in the Southeast District Championship in Virginia to punch their ticket to the national tournament for the first time since 2019.

Sophomore captain George Wyatt scored the first goal of the day for the Titans as the defender now has two goals this season.

The Titans would go to halftime with a 1-0 lead.

Daniele Verdirosi gave Eastern Florida State College a 2-0 lead in the second half and Will Mendoza made it 3-0 as the Titans recorded their eighth shutout of the season.

It is the third time that the men’s soccer team has won the Southeast District title and it is the fifth appearance in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.

Pool play in the national tournament will begin Nov. 12 in Wichita, Kansas.
