FHP: Man in Wheelchair Killed in Hit-and-Run Fatal Crash On Southbound U.S. 1 at Canaveral Groves Blvd.

FHP: VICTIM was struck by an unknown vehicle, possibly an SUV, around 10:25 p.m. Thursday evening

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are on the scene of a hit-and-run fatal crash involving a pedestrian on southbound U.S. Highway 1 at Canaveral Groves Boulevard. “The pedestrian was in his wheelchair on the shoulder of the road when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, possibly an SUV,” said FHP spokesperson Lt. Channing Taylor.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are on the scene of a hit-and-run fatal crash involving a pedestrian on southbound U.S. Highway 1 at Canaveral Groves Boulevard.

“The pedestrian was in his wheelchair on the shoulder of the road when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, possibly an SUV,” said FHP spokesperson Lt. Channing Taylor.

“The southbound lanes remain closed while evidence is being gathered and documented.”

The collision occurred around 10:25 p.m. Thursday evening and the vehicle was last seen fleeing south.
