BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech was one of the 10 best universities in the country for the quality of the career and learning-related opportunities it provides students, according to a survey conducted for the Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2024 Best Colleges rankings.

Florida Tech tied for 8th on the ranking. It joined Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Brigham Young University, University of Notre Dame, and others on the exclusive list released in early October as part of the Journal’s 2024 college rankings.

The leading schools in this ranking were praised in the survey for small classes, strong networks of alumni, recruiter access, innovative facilities that allow for hands-on learning, and a varied and impactful array of internship opportunities.

“Student feedback is appreciated and essential as we continuously seek ways to advance Florida Tech’s excellence,” said President John Nicklow.

“We, too, agree that to develop future leaders and difference-makers requires the best faculty and innovative pedagogy, cutting-edge facilities, and of course powerful internship opportunities and access to our global network of alumni.

“We’re glad our students recognized the value and quality of these areas,” Nicklow continued, “and are excited to partner with them as we continue to grow and evolve Florida Tech to be even better.”

From January to May, the Journal and College Pulse surveyed over 60,000 students and recent graduates across the country. To evaluate schools’ learning-related results, students were asked about their satisfaction with their academic opportunities, career preparation, and learning facilities at their colleges.

The survey also asked students if they were satisfied with the value for money their college provides if they would recommend their school to a friend, and if they would attend their school again if given a second chance to choose a college.

Florida Tech also fared well in the Journal’s 2024 ranking of student experiences, coming in at No. 6 in the nation.
