Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard is set to host the You Only Live Twice Gala on Friday, October 27, to benefit abused children.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard has set the date for the 7th Annual James Bond Themed Gala; You Only Live Twice, for Friday, October 27 to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard.
You Only Live Twice is a Black-Tie Optional, Gala celebration of community leaders engaged as James Bond Contestants competing to raise funds and awareness for the CACB’s programs and services for abused children.
The Gala will be held at Atlantis Exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center from 6:30p.m. – 10 p.m.
The Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard is the nonprofit organization responsible for raising funds and awareness for the CACB, an organization established in 1996 to improve our community’s response to child abuse and neglect.
It has been a tough year for many throughout Florida and this nation, especially the children. Reports of child abuse have continued to increase since the pandemic, including cases of child sexual abuse, exploitation, and human trafficking. Referrals to the CACB Child Protection Team for abuse asssessments and to the Clinical Intervention Program for therapy for child victims also continued to increase. The Clinical Intervention Program developed a wait list for therapy services for child victims last year for the first time since the program began in 1997.
However, thanks to the Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard and all of you, our Special 007 Agents and your successful fundraising, the CACB was able to respond to the need.
- The Friends of the CACB provided funding for an additional therapist position for the Clinical Intervention Program this past year to alleviate the waitlist and get child victims into therapy quickly.
- They also provided funding to send some of the children we serve to summer camp programs last year and again this year.
These are just two examples of how their fundraising efforts have helped the CACB to serve the most vulnerable children in our community and we are truly grateful to all of you who have been involved in their efforts.
