Sandra Pelham created a program within her own community that helps children receive education and meals during the summer break. She founded the “Community Read and Feed” program for those children that may not have many options in the summertime. The Community Read and Feed Program is a summer program for children who arrive at a facility, read books and are provided a meal.

Longtime public servant Tim Deratany has seen incredible changes and growth since arriving in Brevard County from Michigan in 1947 at the age of eight. For the past 50 years, Deratany has been making a positive impact on the Space Coast as the mayor of Indialantic, a member of the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate, as a successful businessman, and most recently, a member of the Space Coast Tourist Development Council.
