BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – With an address of 747 Air Terminal Parkway, it’s a given that the new Hyatt Place at Melbourne Orlando International Airport is ready to soar.

Three years in the making, the new 143-suite hotel is not your typical Hyatt Place.

“This is a game changer for the airport and the city,” said City of Melbourne mayor Paul Alfrey at the ribbon-cutting ceremony June 6.

Yes, it will feature all the brand signature amenities, including stylish Cozy Corner sofa sleepers, a separate workspace area, and a 55-inch HDTV. Yes, it will also offer an outdoor pool and a 24/7 fitness center.

The hotel also ups the ante for guest experience with a rooftop bar with wall-to-wall views of the airport runway. For corporate jet flyers, it is a dream come true.

“The fact is that you have a hotel they can fly-in,” said David Mendal, co-founder and board member of real estate development group Twenty8, which partnered with ADELON Capital to make the hotel a reality.

In fact, Mendal, who possesses FAA commercial pilot rating and is an avid private pilot, was one of the first to fly a private plane to the new hotel.

The realization of plans for the hotel was derailed by COVID-19 for a couple of years, but all is well that ends well, and the new facility is already accepting guests, even as workers still scurry to put in the final touches to the rooftop bar and the pool.

A covered walkway is in the works so guests can walk to the airport, regardless of weather.

“The hotel’s modern design, convenient location, and exceptional service will provide a seamless travel experience for guests,” said Jonathan Cohen, chairman and founder of real estate investment firm ADELON Capital.

“This is a completely different stay from any other Hyatt Place.”

ADELON’s portfolio includes multi-family, mixed-use, and hospitality projects.

Managing daily operations is AD1 Management, which operates 28 hotels and has experience with both Hyatt and airport hotels.

“This is a great fit for us,” said Daniel Berman, president of parent company AD1 Global.

“We are excited to begin operations at this unique and beautiful hotel.”
