BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – One person was hospitalized on Wednesday after a shooting incident in Titusville.

Police say they responded to the scene around 3:45 p.m. about a report of shots being fired outside residences, along the 800 block of Sycamore Street.

Once on scene, officers secured the scene of an apartment complex parking area and located a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” said Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department. “The unknown suspect(s) fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.”

Police have expressed disappointment in the ongoing investigation.

“Our Investigators are disappointed we are not receiving the cooperation needed to solve this case,”said Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson.

The victim in the shooting has not been identified by police at this time.
