BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Blaise Trettis, Public Defender for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit for Brevard and Seminole counties, will present “The Political Prosecution of Donald J. Trump” as an example of lawfare currently being used at the state and federal level.
The meeting will be held at the Cocoa Beach Public Library, located at 550 N. Brevard Avenue, on Wednesday, March 6, and is free and open to the public.
Lawfare in today’s vernacular is the weaponization of federal or state legal systems to go after one’s political opponent and is a portmanteau of the words “law” and “warfare.”

The term may refer to the use of legal systems and principles against an enemy, such as by damaging or delegitimizing them, wasting their time and money, or winning a public relations victory.
