Lueck charged with striking, killing two Brevard women walking on sidewalk last year
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Robert Lueck, 30, of Satellite Beach was arrested Thursday after a 10-month investigation into a fatal vehicle crash that left two women dead, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
During the course of this investigation, Melbourne Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit officers found probable cause that Lueck was operating the motor vehicle while his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit and with cannabis present in his blood.
Lueck has been charged with two counts of DUI Manslaughter (No bond), two counts of Vehicular Homicide (No bond), Driving with a suspended license resulting in death (No bond), Driving under the influence resulting in property damage or personal injury, Driving under the influence, and Failure to maintain financial responsibility.
Rikki Brianna Grace, 25, and Megan Taylor Grace, 26, were killed on Oct. 18, 2022 in the area of Front Street between New Haven Avenue and Melbourne Avenue East when a Ford pickup truck being driven by Lueck struck a curb, drove onto the sidewalk and struck both pedestrians as they were walking southbound on the sidewalk along the east side of Front Street.
Lueck was taken into custody Thursday in Satellite Beach and turned over to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office on no bond status until a first appearance hearing.
