BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Hundreds of Brevard County leaders are set to attend the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) 2024 annual meeting at the King Center for the Performing Arts on January 24.

During this signature event, EDC officials will unveil the first-ever official community brand for Florida’s Space Coast and honor the recipients of the Gary R. Cunningham Distinguished Service Award for Economic Development and EDC’s 2023 Volunteer of the Year.

Mike Shah, CEO of Southeast Petro Distributors, Inc., is the recipient of the Gary R. Cunningham Distinguished Service Award for Economic Development, and Shaunna Lovell, Director of Plans and Programs of Space Launch Delta 45, is the EDC’s 2023 Volunteer of the Year.

“Our community of innovative and spirited individuals is dedicated to building the best tomorrow we can,” said Lynda L. Weatherman, President and CEO of the EDC. “Mission Space Coast, the collective community branding initiative for Brevard County, was just one small example of this.”

During this annual meeting, the EDC will explore what sets Florida’s Space Coast apart and “showcase how our unassuming stretch of coastline is poised like nowhere else to provide humanity with a better future. Although our community may seem quiet, we are home to some of the loudest stuff on Earth. That here, we are writing the story of tomorrow.

Space Coast Daily will be providing live coverage from the meeting, with coverage starting at 5 p.m. on Jan. 24.
