BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The wait is over for Space Coast foodies. Urban Prime is now open in Viera. Chef Ercan Ekinci’s 13,000-square-foot temple to all things culinary has upped the ante in the area’s already thriving food scene.

The 300-seat restaurant, coupled with a gourmet market and meticulously curated wine shop opened Monday, Oct. 9, in Viera’s Town Center, envisioned by The Viera Company as the heart of Viera. As a Shop+Dine+Gather experience, Urban Prime aims to connect both visitors and locals in the celebration of cuisine, libations, culture and community.

“Chef Ercan Ekinci is delivering a critical experiential component of The Viera Company’s vision for the Viera Town Center,” said Todd J. Pokrywa, president of The Viera Company when Ekinci began the journey to add Urban Prime to the Viera dining scene.

The chef has a loyal following of fans wowed by his culinary excellence during his two decades as executive chef and partner at Green Turtle Market in Indian Harbour Beach. Before joining the Green Turtle, Ekinci crafted dinners for “the place patriots call home,” Indian River Colony Club.

One of the largest restaurants in Brevard, Ekinci’s Urban Prime features ample outdoor seating where guests can enjoy the views of lakes, Duran Golf Course and concerts across the street in the planned park site.

Ekinci drew inspiration from the crisp lines of Frank Lloyd Wright in designing the architecture of his new complex, with the help of architect Dave Nagrodsky, Mike Williams Jr., of MH Williams Construction Group and Adrienne Chandler of AC Design Concepts to help his vision become reality.

The first Viera restaurant to offer dedicated parking for golf carts, Urban Prime also features a large firepit gathering area and bars both in and outdoors.

Inside, Urban Prime showcases artworks such as the elegant collages created by Eau Gallie artist Derek Gores. Plans are in the works for special events that incorporate performances by groups such as symphony and orchestra ensembles.
