UCF Knights Conclude its 10-year Tenure in the American Athletic Conference With Most Conference Titles

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – UCF has concluded its 10-year tenure in the American Athletic Conference, and during that decade the Knights won more league titles than any other conference member.

UCF teams won 52 AAC titles from 2013-14 through 2022-23—21 regular-season crowns and 31 more via conference postseason tournaments, league title games, or other conference champion designations.

Behind the Knights on the AAC list are Houston (45), SMU (34), Tulsa (30), South Florida (28) and Cincinnati (21).

The highest-achieving Knight sports over those 10 years have been volleyball (11 overall titles—5 regular season), football (8 titles—4 regular season), softball (6 titles—3 regular season), women’s soccer (5 titles—4 regular season) and rowing (5 titles).

In certain years in football and volleyball, the league awarded two championships in years when title games or tournaments were not played.

Here’s a summation of AAC championships won by UCF during its decade in that league:

Football (8 overall, 4 regular season)

■ 2013 *American Athletic Conference Champion (regular season and conference champion)

■ 2014 *American Athletic Conference Champion (regular season and conference champion)

■ 2017 American Athletic Conference Champion (regular season and championship game)

■ 2018 American Athletic Conference Champion (regular season and championship game)

*The AAC awarded two championships in years title games were not played, honoring the 2013 and 2014 teams as both regular-season champions and conference champions.Men’s Soccer (4 overall, 3 regular season)

■ 2018 American Athletic Conference Champion (regular season)

■ 2019 American Athletic Conference Champion (regular season)

■ 2020 American Athletic Conference Champion (regular season and tournament–played spring 2021)
