ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The UCF Board of Trustees moved to approve the construction and financing vehicle of the expanded and renovated football Roth Tower during Wednesday morning’s workshop.
“This is another exciting day in the trajectory for UCF Athletics,” said UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir. “Not only will the new tower provide new resources for us, but this will allow us to expand the premium offerings and entry level seating options to maintain one of most affordable tickets among the power four conferences in college football.
“I’d like to thank Mayor Demings, the Orange County Commissioners, and the Tourism Development Council for seeing the value that UCF Athletics brings to Orlando in tourism and especially the UCF Board of Trustees and Dr. Cartwright for their confidence to move forward with such an exciting project.”
Among the presentations made during the session, Mohajir gave an update on the progress of the Kenneth G. Dixon Athletics Village and the results of the demand study for the FBC Mortgage Stadium Roth Tower expansion.
Mohajir also unveiled updated renderings of the Stadium Tower Design to the board in a presentation along with Jon Varnell, UCF’s Vice President for Administrative Operations.
Following that discussion, Executive Chief of Staff Mike Kilbride and Vice President and General Counsel Youndy Cook presented the Tourism Tax Development Funding Agreement, which will now move to Orange County Government for final approval. Albert Francis, Assistant Vice President for Debt Management and University Treasurer, provided the debt package for discussion in conjunction with Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance Gerald Hector.
The Board of Trustees approved all items, moving the tower project forward pending final approvals from Orange County Government and the Florida Board of Governors.
The Tower is scheduled to be completed by the 2026 football season.
