UCF Spring Football Game Will Feature Helmet Logos Created by Pediatric Patients at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children

UCF football players and pediatric patients at the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, hold up designs that will be worn on the helmets at UCF’s annual Knights vs. ‘Nauts Spring Game.

In a unique opportunity, pediatric patients at the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, designed logos for the student-athletes to wear on their helmets during UCF’s annual Knights vs. ‘Nauts Spring Game, presented by Knight Pass, on Friday, April 12, at FBC Mortgage Stadium.

ORLANDO – It was special. That was the consensus among UCF football student-athletes following their latest visit to the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Different from previous visits, the student-athletes sought input from the children on how to take their game, or their style for the Spring Game, to the next level.

In a unique opportunity, the children designed logos for the student-athletes to wear on their helmets during UCF’s annual Knights vs. ‘Nauts Spring Game, presented by Knight Pass, on Friday, April 12, at FBC Mortgage Stadium.

UCF’s student-athletes assisted the children in the creative process of coloring and designing stacked UCF, Knight Head and Citronaut logos that the players will don on their helmets.

“Giving back to our community is a huge part of who we are as a program, so we’re excited to have our players represent the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in this unique way in our Spring Game,” said UCF head coach Gus Malzahn.

Not only will the football student-athletes be excited to play in front of Knight Nation for the first time in nearly four months on Friday, but they will also be playing for the children that they have now developed a connection with and representing them on the field.

Additionally, a few of the children from the hospital will be in attendance and recognized during Friday’s game.

For more than 14 years, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has been named a “Best Children’s Hospital” by U.S. News & World Report. In 2023-24, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital was ranked in four specialties: Endocrinology & Diabetes, Neonatology, Orthopedics and Pulmonology.
