ALERT: Cocoa Utilities Will Turn Water Off Thursday in Areas of Rockledge and Suntree to Repair Water Main Break

Former Atlas Launch Director Silas ‘Sy’ K. Baker, Jr., 89, Passed Away After Battle With Cancer

Silas “Sy” K. Baker, Jr., age 89, died April 3, 2024, at home and surrounded by loving family. Sy fought an 8-year battle with cancer and was a Warrior to have survived so long. Mr. Baker was a long serving Launch Conductor and Director of the Atlas Centaur Program for Lockheed Martin at the Cape. After service in the Strategic Air Command and as a pilot and Captain in the USAF, Sy came to Brevard County in 1964. […]
