BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with the Executive Director of the Brevard Heart Foundation, Stacy Cartechine.

The Brevard Health Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and recognizing those in the healthcare field.

Although they are involved with multiple programs, Cartechine and I spoke mostly about their upcoming Heart of a Hero Gala, which will be held on April 6, 2024, at the Hilton Melbourne.

That may sound like a long way off, however the nominating process for this event is now underway.

Cartechine told me this event is to, “recognize medical professionals, doctors, nurses, technicians, physician assistants that go ‘above and beyond’ for the people of Brevard.

She continued by saying, “It is open to public and private offices, medical professionals, CNAs, support staff in a medical facility, hospice care,” and basically anyone in the medical field.

The nominating process will run through January 15, 2024. To submit a nomination, go to brevardheartfoundation.org, fill out the form, and submit. It’s that simple!

One of the initiatives of the Brevard Heart Foundation that Cartechine spoke about is their scholarship program.

She told me, “Our scholarship program is unique because it can go directly to the student to meet financial needs, such as rent or daycare. The money doesn’t just go directly to the school like most scholarship programs.”

To date, over $740,000.00 has been provided to students in the healthcare field.

When asked about the best way to support the Brevard Heart Foundation, Cartechine told me, “We would love to be considered for End of Year Giving. Those gifts & donations can be given at www.brevardheartfoundation.org/donate.
