BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Mustangs and Eau Gallie Commodores will look to get a bounce back win tonight after both teams suffered tough losses last week.
Merritt Island (4-1) will host Eau Gallie tonight at 7 p.m. on Space Coast Daily TV.
For Eau Gallie (4-1), the Commodores enter tonight coming off a blowout 28-7 loss to Cocoa last week. At the halfway mark of the season, team identities are known and for this Eau Gallie team they want this game to be a defensive slugfest for them to win. Eau Gallie utilizes their rushing attack to compliment their good defense.
For Merritt Island (4-1), the Mustangs return home after dropping their first road game of the season last week to Heritage 36-9. Merritt Island had no answers on the offensive side of the ball after the great defensive performance by the Panthers.
The Mustangs are a young and athletic team with only 9 seniors on the team. Look for QB Shaun Hartman and running backs Chris Kelly and Kaseem Ross to get going early on to help establish a rhythm that was lacking last week.
