BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The West Melbourne School for Science LEGO Robotics teams had tremendous performances at the 2024 Regional Tournament in Orlando on January 13.

The Shooting Stars “Flying GOATs” and “Techno Coders” squads competed against 48 other teams and earned an invitation to the Innovations Project Expo at Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University on February 19 to demonstrate their robots.

The Flying GOATs placed as one of the top robotics teams at the competition and won the Robot Design award.

The Flying GOATs were also one of only 11 teams to earn an invitation to the 2024 Florida State Robotics Championship in Palm Beach from March 8-9.

Furthermore, both teams were invited to the Orlando Magic STEM Night on January 19 where they demonstrated their robots in front of tens of thousands of people.

Congratulations to students Nora A., Vignesh C., Isabella G., Shivbhagat H., Nalmika K., Brady Q., Rania R., Sharanya V., Emma C., Suhanya B., Uriah T., Shravani V., Luke F., Emma C., Sathvik M., Arya Z., Prajnashri S., and Ava J.

The Shooting Stars are coached by Peter Fassman, Suneetha Srinivasa, Siddhartha Bhattacharyya, Julia Querry, and Luna Majumder.
