BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball picked up their 20th conference win of the season and cut down the nets as the Citrus Conference champions.

The No. 7 ranked Titans won the conference title for the third straight season and are 20-0 heading into Monday’s regular-season finale at St. Petersburg College.

On Saturday the Titans used a big first quarter to defeat Hillsborough Community College 96-78 for their 24th straight win and the 44th straight conference win.

It was all Titans early as sophomore Esra Sen made her final game at Titan Field House once to remember, scoring 14 of her career-high 19 points in the first quarter.

The Titans would add to the lead in the second quarter and held a commanding 58-35 lead at halftime.

Hillsborough CC would use a run in the third quarter to cut the lead to under 20 but Sen and Amelia Hassett each had buckets late in the quarter to keep the lead at 19 heading to the fourth.

Seven sophomores were recognized at halftime of the game as most of them cut down nets for at least the second time on Saturday night.

Hassett finished with 29 points and 11 rebounds with five assists and four steals while Jaidyn Koerdt finished with 12 points and Andrea Chiquemba had 11 in the win. It was the 22nd double-double of the season for Hassett.

Eastern Florida State College finished 12-0 at home and has won 35 straight at Titan Field House, going unbeaten for the third straight season. The Titans have punched their ticket to the FCSAA/Region 8 Tournament beginning March 13 at Northwest Florida State College.

But first, the Titans will travel to St. Petersburg College for the regular-season finale on Monday evening. The conference game will begin at 5 p.m.
