Eastern Florida State Women’s Basketball Prepares for Final Conference Game Monday

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team will wrap up the regular season Monday in a Citrus Conference game at St. Petersburg College.

With a win, the Titans will finish the conference season unbeaten for the third straight season. Eastern Florida State College, which is ranked seventh in the NJCAA Division I poll, has won 24 straight games and is 20-0 in the conference this season.

St. Petersburg College comes into the final game of the season 5-24 on the season and 3-17 in conference play. They are led by Carliss Johnson who is averaging 11.5 points per game this season and is coming off a 14-point performance against Daytona State College.

Eastern Florida State College won the first two meetings this season by an average of 44 points and is led by sophomore Amelia Hassett who is averaging 20 points and 13.1 rebounds per game this season.

The 13.1 rebounds leads Region 8 and is shooting 42 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.

Monday night’s game will tip off at 5 p.m. in St. Petersburg.

The Titans have won the Citrus Conference regular season title and will play in the FCSAA State Tournament beginning March 14 at Northwest Florida State College.
