FLORIDA’S SPACE COAST • BREVARD COUNTY – The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) announced the launch of the first-ever regional brand for Florida’s Space Coast.

Unveiled at the EDC’s 2024 Annual Meeting hosted at the Maxwell C. King Center for Performing Arts on Wednesday, the new brand “Florida’s Space Coast; Tomorrow Launches Here,” marks a significant milestone in the area’s efforts to develop a consistent and unique identity to be recognized on a global scale.

Crafted through a collaborative community-wide initiative, led by the EDC, the brand aims to distinguish the Space Coast as a community of choice to attract and retain investment and top-tier talent to the region.

EDC President and CEO, Lynda L. Weatherman, emphasized the critical role community branding plays in economic development.

“Branding of a community is critical in economic development, not just for talent attraction and retention, but also for the attraction and expansion of businesses, said Weatherman.

“The EDC is proud to have led the efforts to set the next stage in distinguishing Florida’s Space Coast as the best place to live, work and do business, and Florida’s Space Coast; Tomorrow Launches Here captures the essence of our community as a place that not only dreams of the future, but actively shapes it.”

Florida’s Space Coast; Tomorrow Launches Here” is designed to serve as an umbrella brand to be utilized by stakeholders across the Space Coast region. This strategic approach ensures a consistent positive message, both locally and on a national and global scale.

The brand design and brand story underwent extensive testing through focus groups and a nationwide survey to ensure its resonance and appeal communicate the diverse aspects of the region.

The brand icon and color palette reflect the richness of community assets, capturing its space heritage, nature, technology and community friendliness.

A Brand Reporting Board composed of community leaders, fronted by Brett Esrock, Executive Vice President, CFO and COO, Health First, directed the branding initiative to ensure the brand captured the spirit of the region.

“I have seen firsthand the long-term positive impacts branding can have on a community,” said Esrock.

“A unified community brand is an intentional effort that will increase tourism, business development and retention, and talent acquisition, resulting in a community that thrives and weathers the inevitable storms.”
