Mark Vannicola Jr., 36, charged with DUI Manslaughter, Vehicular Homicide
Vannicola was originally charged with DUI Manslaughter, Vehicular Homicide, DUI 4th Offense and DUI with Serious Body Injury (2 counts).
BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Jenny Renee Golden, 50, of Cocoa Beach, succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday as a result of a New Year’s Eve fatal traffic crash that occurred on West Cocoa Beach Causeway (State Road 520).
Golden was the second occupant involved in this traffic crash that has died, and Mark Christian Vannicola Jr., 36, of Merritt Island is currently in custody at the Brevard County Jail and now charged with an additional count of DUI Manslaughter and Vehicular Homicide.
Vannicola was arrested earlier this month for his actions in the fatal traffic crash that occurred on West Cocoa Beach Causeway (State Road 520) on New Year’s Eve.
Vannicola was originally charged with DUI Manslaughter, Vehicular Homicide, DUI 4th Offense and DUI with Serious Body Injury (2 counts).
Officers with the Cocoa Beach Police Department worked on this investigation diligently to bring this case to a successful conclusion.
“It was determined that Mark Vannicola Jr. was operating his vehicle at a reckless speed while under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash,” said a Cocoa Beach police spokesperson.
