BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Cocoa Tigers defensive lineman Loren Ward officially signed his Letter of Intent with Florida Atlantic University on Wednesday.
Ward played for Cocoa High School and for Coach Ryan Schneider. Ward ended his senior campaign with a 14-1 record. He saw action in every game and tallied 46 tackles, including 16 TFL of which eight were sacks for a loss of 70 yards and added 25 QBH.
The team finished the regular season ranked No. 14 nationally with their second-straight state title and sixth overall.
Ward was ranked No. 199 among Florida senior recruits by On3. As a junior, was part of a dominant defense that helped Cocoa claim their fifth state championship.
He held offers from nearly 20 schools including Iowa State, Liberty, UAB, USF and Appalachian State.
