BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Birthing Center at Holmes Regional Medical Center announced the first baby born at Health First in 2024.
Baby girl Remi was born at 11:20 a.m. on New Year’s Day and weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces. Mom Shannon Hamper of Melbourne said that this is her third child born at Health First and Remi’s two older brothers are looking forward to meeting their new sister.
“I really love the hospital and how easy they make the whole process. I just love all the staff,” said Hamper.

The Birth Suites, Holmes Regional Medical Center’s mother/baby wing, features 23 private, exquisitely appointed post-partum rooms, many with magnificent views of the Indian River.
The Birth Suites has its own grand, exclusive entrance from other areas of the hospital and an enclosed elevator rising directly to the spacious fourth floor lobby. The main waiting area is equipped with free WiFi service so family and friends can stay connected while awaiting their new arrival.
