Eastern Florida State College softball pitcher Alanna O’Brien was named the NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. The freshman right-hander from Mascotte, Florida made five appearances last week and did not allow a run in 18 1/3 innings, going 2-1 with two saves. BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College softball pitcher Alanna O’Brien was named the NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

The freshman right-hander from Mascotte, Florida made five appearances last week and did not allow a run in 18 1/3 innings, going 2-1 with two saves. O’Brien struck out seven hitters and was instrumental in the Titans going 5-1 last week.

It is the first Titans softball player to win the award this season and is the second straight season that a pitcher has won the Pitcher of the Week honor.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Miami Dade College on Tuesday and then will host No. 3 Florida Southwestern State College in a doubleheader on Saturday.

Saturday’s games will begin at 2 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex and admission is free.
