National Transportation Safety Board to Collaborate with Melbourne Police to Investigate Fatal Brightline Train Crashes

Two Melbourne residents were killed on Friday afternoon in the second Brightline train crash in three days – at the same crossing near WH Jackson Street. “The vehicle involved in the crash had two adult occupants and both the driver and passenger of this vehicle succumbed to their injuries sustained by the impact from the train,” said Sgt. Desormier. Melbourne police identified the victims as 54-year-old passenger Michael Anthony Degasperi of Melbourne and driver Lisa Ann Batchelder, 52, also of Melbourne. […]
